Safer Experiential Learning Starts Here: At the Root Advocacy Toolkits

71% of students at Canadian postsecondary schools either witnessed or experienced unwanted sexualized behaviours in a postsecondary setting. When academic or work environments go unchecked, the impact on students’ well-being and ability to thrive in their chosen fields is significant.

That’s where the At the Root project comes in, our flagship initiative, working to remove barriers at the root in STEM co-ops, internships and other experiential learning opportunities. The At the Root project has brought together a community of collaborators, researchers, educators, employers, and students committed to addressing sexual harassment in STEM experiential learning. That collaborative work has resulted in toolkits and learning resources to support evidence-based advocacy and drive systemic change.

Both toolkits are available in English and French.
