ARC in Action
When a student discloses sexual harassment or violence, your response matters more than you think.
Acknowledge, Respond, Connect
ARC stands for Acknowledge, Respond and Connect. Developed by Possibility Seeds in 2023 (and licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.), the ARC Model is a three-step approach designed to help post-secondary employees (i.e., faculty, staff, administrators) and experiential learning employers respond effectively to disclosures of sexual harassment and violence in professional environments.
ARC Resources
The resources below adapt the ARC Model for leaders and practitioners of experiential learning (EL) and work-integrated learning (WIL) in Canada, particularly (but not exclusively) for those who teach and support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

ARC in Action
ARC in Action is a free, self-directed and asynchronous e-learning course that equips educators and leaders with the practical skills to recognize, prevent and respond to sexual harassment and violence in EL and WIL contexts. The course uses real-world, scenario-based learning to build confidence in supporting students, navigating disclosures with care, and fostering safer, more accountable learning and work environments.
Available in English and French.

ARC in Action FAQ

ARC in Action was designed with Canadian work-integrated learning (WIL) leaders and postsecondary professionals in mind. However, the course should benefit anyone wanting to learn about responding effectively to disclosures of sexual harassment and violence in professional environments.

ARC in Action is a self-directed micro-learning course. Learners should be able to complete the course sections in approximately 4 hours. Participants may complete it at their own pace.
